Just train hard. Every night do some push up before going to slepp and U should increase the no of push up every two weeks to 1 month. Example if you start with 10 push up, 2 weeks later U should icrease to 15 or 20 depending on individual.
If U have the habit of exercise in the morning or evening, U can go to the chin up bar and do the pull up. This can also improve your strategy 2.

If you find pull ups too hard, do more push ups first, to build up upper body strength.

Even though pushups and pullups not really related, both work the upper body. Go slow and steady, maintain good form for both exercises.
