Get stuff you can carry around in your backpack or tote. Just make sure the packaging is durable and possibly reusable, i.e. if you drop the compact blusher, it won't scatter everywhere.
I love Clinique's makeup because they make everything so that you can carry it around with you. Rimmel makes great lipsticks that won't melt in the heat.
At your age, the best makeups would be by:
- Maybelline (they make cheaper makeup if you can't afford the high-end brands)
- Clinique (fantastic but expensive)
- Stila (fun and practical)

Have you heard of E.L.F.? Check online. http://www.eyeslipsface.com
This company is great for young skin and EVERYTHING costs only $1!!!
Another great idea is to stop by your department store and see if anyone is doing make-overs. Realize that you DO NOT have to buy anything there. Tell them you want to see how it feels as you wear it all day or you have to check with your Mom first. Ask them to write down what they used and how. They will give you a chart to follow. Then, using their ideas and colors, go to your local discount or drug store and duplicate what they did if you liked it.
Actually, you probably don't need much more than a nice blush, mascara and lipstick or gloss. Avon also has some nice, reasonably priced products. If you live near an Ulta store they usually have a set with everything in it for a reasonable price which gives you a variety of things to try. Kohl's, Targets, etc do too.
As you sound young, remember that you need "light" make-up coverage and things that DO NOT block your pores. No anti-aging, extra moisturizing products. Ask the rep. at the store to help you determine what type of skin you have....probably towards the oily side. If so, they can help you pick products which are appropriate. Clinque is one of the department store brands usually good for young skin.
Over-all, have someone personally look at you and your skin and advice you as to which brand might work best for YOU. There is no one breand good for everyone. Don't spend a lot of money at this time. Make sure your skin care line is good - that is what is most important. (Good cleanser, toner, masque and light mostiurizer)
Most of all, smile and show off your beautiful personality! Have fun with make-up but remember, it should enhance, not hide.
Isn't it fun being a girl?

The thing with make-up at school, is that kids tend to plaster it on, I did at school, looking back at photos, I really didn't need it. I use way less make-up now in my twenties. I would say keep it natural looking, make the most of your young skin! Use a gloss on your lips instead of a heavy colour and use a bit of pink blusher instead of plastering on the foundation.
Hope it all works out for you. X

It depends on your skin tone. Bobbi Brown usually looks good on light skin tones. Sephoria and MAC look good on deep/dark skin tones.
