The best way to choose number of pages...it so go to a book store or library.
Look at the different age appropriate books. And get your ideas there. For kids pre-k -1st grade pictures are best and SOME words...about 10 pages.
2nd to 3rd graders are reading a bit more but still like some pictures...maybe 20 pages...
4-6th grades are into CHAPTER books...up to a 100 pages and MORE.
ALTHOUGH I have know SOME 5th and 6th graders to be reading HARRY POTTER and such LONGER books.
Above that the sky is the limit !
Really look in libraries either public or SCHOOL would be best you can ask the librarian which groups are for what age groups.

Depends on how old your target audience is. If they're just starting to read, up to 30 pages is the norm. For more advanced but still grade school level, 100-200 pages. But don't stress too much about length. Your publisher will tell you if he thinks it's too long or too short.

depends upon the age of te children. younger children need fewer pages and only 10 - 15 words per page. older children can read more words per page. when you were a child, what sort of books were you reading ?

take a trip to your local library (yes they still exist...lol) and take a look at the children's section. it may give you some ideas on what works and what doesn't! like the other girl said... less pages and less words for younger children, more pages and more words for older children. keep it simple for the young ones too, they tend to enjoy the cuddle time but attention span is shorter. i hope for your success.

Enough to tell the story, but not too much that the child will start getting bored.
