try double clicking on the little speaker on your taskbar, and it will open a menu, you should see something like WAVE. if not click options, properties and "tick" the WAVE box. click OK. Turn the WAVE up to the top.

that helped on my laptop, as that was very quiet on full volume.

Check that your speaker connection is in properly, there maybe a loose wire or something, Other than that your speakers may have destorted so check for that too

speaker plugged into wrong port
bad speaker wire plug or wire
using mono speaker plug on stereo system
