Whats going to happen in the year 2012? Ive heard and read that something big is going to happen. I would love to know what it is, or do i? Anybody know anything?

According to the Mayan calendar, the world comes to an end in 2012; specifically on December 21st (which is the Winter Solstice)

If our beautiful planet survives until the year 2012, we can realise that a miracle has occured, and some fanatic has been denied the nurclear bomb to start World War 3, which will be the final war. Peace!

There's allegedly an asteroid on a collision course with Earth on or around 2012.
I've heard two stories.
1. They don't know IF it's goig to hit or not.
2. They say it will miss us by a narrow margin.
That's what 'I've heard anyway.

In 2012 the social security system swings from surplus to deficit. Thus, taxes will have to be hiked and benefits will have to be cut. This means a lower standard of living for all Americans.
