I take no offense in your question. I wonder the same thing all the time when I go out in my town in Michigan. In my own opinion the parents that allow their children to dress this way are only asking for thiri children to become raped and/or killed. When these girls dress this way they are asking for nothing good to come out of it. When this does happen, sorry to say, I can not blame the person that does this to young people. I feel its a welcome mat to treat me as you see me dress this way. I may get alot of people responding to my opinion but that is the way I feel.

It's not that caucasian parents LET their daughters wear slutty clothes. Many girls of all ethnicity wear skimpy clothes that make Pam Anderson look half decent. It's not that the let them wear that. Kids go to school, kids go out and all these are done when their parents are not around. Of course they're gonna dress inappropriately when they're folks are not around. The best way to prevent it? Teach your kids about self respect and know who they are hanging out with. Often, your child may seem sweet and innocent at home, but they are easily influenced by friends.... how often have I seen girls leave home wearing a decent length skirt and once they're at the corner of the street, they pull up the skirt to turn it into a mini skirt?

We can't always blame parents for their kids' actions or choices, but we can do something to somewhat prevent it: know your kid.

First off I have to dissagree because I've seen just about every race of girl wearing clothes that are slutty or skimpy. But parents do need to do something. I understand that kids want to emulate adults but there is a line. You shouldn't see a 10yr old in a miniskirt. And people wonder why teen pregnancies are so common. Parents need to start parenting more and stop letting the TV and internet do it for them.

This is very funny. I have a 16yr old daughter. She just went shopping w/ my mom. She told my mom that she likes it when I'm honest with her and tell her when something looks slutty on her.
I think that sometimes when they are going for a certain look, they don't look at the whole picture. They go with their friends to go shopping and they see that something is cute, they try it on, but they are not looking at being slutty, they are just looking at the color or the prints or something like that, but they are not looking at the outfit as a whole.
Parents look at clothing in a different way than kids do.
I remember when I was 16, I loved these boots that went up to my thigh, they had a very high heel. I bought them. They weren't slutty to me, I just thought they were cool... My parents didn't even know I had them. Now I know that strippers wear them.
I know this doesn't really answer the question directly.

Who knows why parents allow their children to do anything. Alternatively, does any parent have much control over teenage kids? Sometimes giving in on some things might gain the parent an audience for more important issues. And overall, who is the judge of what is skimpy, slutty or inappropriate? You? And who made you in charge? Why cant people be proud of themselves, their natural bodies (attractive or not), and their wardrobe without having some self appointed censor telling them what they should or should not do?

Not all caucasian parents let their daughters wear slutty clothes, I know my daughter does not. I don't think race is the issue, I think it's certain parents that just don't care

Seriously?

It's not a question of races (maybe just the area that you've seen) and todays kids have no respect for themselves and/or their parents... Plus - they get exposed to so much nonsence in the public/tv/movies/radio that their little brains get so pumped full of sex (sexual related) things and issues - they can't help it?

We should be prostesting agaist the media (NOT CAUCASIAN PARENTS!) By the way... Am I smelling some racism?

LOL I don't know abou that but I have seen alot more people of other races wearing slutty clothes than caucasians. I think that it doesn't matter your race, it just depends on how strict you are as a parent.

Still a better question would be: why do any parents let their daughters wear inappropriate, skimpy clothing ( then you don't have to concern yourself with offending anyone) and I can wonder right along with you.

It's not just Caucasian parents. It shows a lack of respect for themselves and their children. In today's world the children are calling the shots and the parents let them do whatever they want. No matter how Horrible it makes them look.
