Well to answer this question in an honest and frankly Military standpoint, then you have to look at the pros and the cons of Nuclear warfare to eliminate world conflict and sustain a long lasting peaceful outcome. It is however a last resort!. But when it comes down to losing your freedom and bieng encarserated in a foriegn dictatorship or culture to which you niether want to be apart of nor would want to be in. Then you have to look at what you would be prepared to do in such a situation. Your freedom and your right to a peaceful existense have been already bought and paid for by those brave men and women of both the first and second world wars who gave their lives, in the hope that we, their children could live in peace for many years to come. If that same threat which they faced came upon us once more, would you want to do the same for your familys freedom and security?.
If you and those of your loved ones are faced by a global War and a long term peaceful solution is no longer a viable option!!. What then?...submit?. If it comes down to sheer weight of numbers and they have more?. An enemy that simply refuses to submit, for say example Japan who were not willing to surrender at any cost without a Nuclear deterrent to eventualy bring them to the negotiating table?. Yes Nuclear war would and should be used when a worldwide threat to global peace is on the cards.
I say again only as a last resort. But it is a viable one, you can bet your **** it is!.

How can annihilation be a solution to any of the worlds problems ? After that there will be nothing left to care about.. We must find a peaceful workable solution to the present fighting and bombing is not a peaceful way. There is a huge difference in am atomic bomb and a Nuclear bomb...The devastation cant be compared or the result.

No to war. anything that can be tackle through peaceful means, the better. Enough blood and lives wasted. Lets start all over again.
