Oh yes! He'll be watching something on tv knowing that there is a good programme on the other channel that I would have like to see (although I am not too fussy - compromise springs to mind). Within minutes he'd be dosing off in the chair (knowing that it will give him neckache as it always does) with remote controls stashed around him, and slowly but surely he'd start snoring louder and louder. I'd go up to him, slowly and quietly, and just as I switch to the other channel, as if he feels my presence, he'd say: "I was just watching that..." "Yeah, with closed eyes!" I'd say. He would insist that he was watching that although I know different and depending on my mood, sometimes I'd carry on 'argueing' just to prove a point by asking him what has just happened in that programme. Of course he soon admits defeat. If I am in a bad mood I'd start to immitate his snoring as loud as I can. That soon wakes him up. I used to pinch his nostrils, that's quite funny. Its just that we have a lovely 11 week old baby now, so its kind of difficult to carry on silly conversations when the baby is asleep. Thats probably what irritates me more, the fact that I have to 'whisper-shout' at him, can't just have a good yell at him! I do give him a piece of my mind though in the morning. Having said all that, this topic made me giggle, I was in tears, and some comments, well they are well funny. Tonight, I'll be undoubtedly going through the same thing again, and so will you all. Try to see the funny side of it...

Yes me. He hasn't watched a full programme for years. He loves the films Grease and Titanic and if we've got nothing to watch and we start going through the dvd library it's always them that come up first, he only wants to keep watching them to see if he can stay awake long enough to see the middle bits. Oh and the snoring, I have him and the two dogs at it.

Lord....We went through what you're describing for years. I was so close to homicidal I can't begin to tell you!!!!!
Then the kids moved out!!!!
HOORAY!!!!
It didn't keep him awake.....that would be way too much to hope for. But it did free up three bedrooms.
I promptly went out and bought new living room furniture. Moved old into a bedroom, had the cable company come and install cable in the bedroom I'd put the furniture into.....bought a really nice T.V.....Voila!!!
We had a lovely upstairs T.V. room....with comfy furniture.
I thought about having the cable uninstalled in our bedroom but that would have been going a bit far...
Anyway, I started sitting in my new room....brought snacks up there...so his sleepiness soon followed.
Now, when I'm ready to go to bed, I leave him sitting, asleep, in the T.V. room. He has actually gotten better about staying awake because he was waking so cramped and achy from s;leeping in the chair that he really does try to stay awake...he KNOWS I'll just leave him.
And times when the snoring and farting have me close to killing him, I just pick up and go into the bedroom early!!!!
Good luck!
Reg

Always have a DVD he loves ready in the player.
When he falls asleep during your program, just flick over to the DVD for a few seconds until he rouses. Keep on doing that, and in time he will find it difficult to sleep during your programs.

Sounds like he is worn out and needs a really good rest, or he could be ill. I was doing this, sleeping all the time, and found out I have diabetes quite badly, so ask him to get a blood check, because this is not normal behaviour

But extra sugar in his coffee/tea. Replace all of his alcohol with red bull. Say he's looking a bit ill and give him some covonia day time. He won't be sleeping for a long time :)
