it also calls for quicktime player, the one i downloaded is apple w/ itunes, i dont want itunes, i need 3.1 or something in that nature to play my game, can anyone help me, its only temperarily, until i play my game, please, please, please, HELP.

After it has been installed, right-click on the desktop icon of the game. Choose properties. You should see 3 tabs - general, shortcut and compatibility. Open compatibility and you will see an option to 'run this program in compatibility mode for:', check that and choose Windows 95. Click Apply. Close and try running the program again.
It may work, but if it doesn't, you may have to search for a DOS or Win95 emulator on the web and download it.

There is a download for the Apple Quicktime 7 Standalone Player, which doesn't include iTunes. Concerning the other part of your question, you could do a search for a patch, but usually older games will not run on Windows XP.
