F1 for me has become nothing more than follow the leader and hope someone makes a mistake. MotoGP and BTCC are far more exciting to watch. What do you think?

Being female, I asked this question to my male friend not two hours ago. Apart from the 'willing someone to win' and the 'engine noises' he really couldn't give me a good answer, so I'm still perplexed!

I like it, but it certainly not as much as I use to. By the looks of it the German fans agree… Half empty grandstands while Michael is making a strong championship push. A couple of races ago there were no changes in position for the top 7 cars for the first 15 laps. Sadly, that’s very boring. I’ll watch every F1 race for the rest of my life, but if I want some fun in watching motorsports, I’ll take Nextel Cup. I’m not kidding when I say that NASCAR will eventually take over the planet. They offer a product that is entertaining on all levels. The drivers are accessible to the fans and not distanced like in F1. The more foreign drivers like Montoya that come over, the more it will sell worldwide. The FIA has seriously screwed up Formula One with stupid rules that are taking the fun from the fan.

It has been a bit follow the leader in the past but with the constant rule changing has actually started to work but its still a long race and I think that's the problem, in the BTCC they have three short rounds so there is always lots of battling and weighting the winning cars also helps. The FIA should consider bringing in rules like the BTCC and then we would see the sparks fly

It was a follow Michael Schumacher thing for a while, but Alonso has changed that. The tracks need altering to encourage more overtaking. The days when Damon Hill and Schumacher raced and overtook are gone - but Alonso is making it interesting again. But there is still more to do. Damon Hill once said, it would be better if they all drove Minardi. It did just come down to who had the most cash and Ferrari with £100 million a year were bound to win. But the new rules have changed things and more needs to be done. It should be the skill of the drivers, not the money spent on the development.

Well I find BTCC boring to watch on TV but to be at the raceday its really exciting, the overtaking, the crashes, the speed and the noise.

I like to watch F1 on TV - its sort of like wrestling - you enjoy the gossip and storyline etc even though sometimes the races themselfs arent that interesting but have never been to a f1 race but I still think I would prefer to see BTCC

ten sports more tedious than f1.

horse racing
show juping
golf
cricket
tennis
bowls
marathon running
polo
synchronised swimming
chess

could go on.
wont.

moto gp is more exciting because the bikes are a lot smaller than an f1 car. so theres more space for overtaking etc.

btcc is more exciting because the cars are less glued to the track and have less dirty air behind them (which inhibits overtaking).
watching the touring cars in race 2 and 3 at donnington at the weekend it struck me that there was a lot of un forced errors out there.
f1 drivers are, theoretically at least, better drivers and therefore make fewer mistakes.
i love both, f1 is more of a technical sport. its the strategy of it as much as anything. but as for f1 being boring.
i guess you have tuned in on bad days.
there have been many races in the last two years alone which have had plenty of incidents and excitement.

also

if you dont like f1 try the a1 series, starting again in october at zandvoort in holland.,

Well mate, you maybe right, F1 is in its laziest and most boring days, but I have nothing but hope for better Formula1 future!!! Bernie Eckelstone does with F1 racing whatever he wants, he doesn’t care for the sport all he wants is publicity and to control over the teams (I don’t really understand why he had to decrease the engines from v10 to v8) and all the stooped rules that make the drivers look like puppets and Bernie like their master… and not to start about the qualifications and how confusing they are for the fans!!!
But no mater this I’ve got faith that Formula 1 will return its old charm and someone like Senna or Hakkinen will be the new “savior” of the sport…

F1 is now exciting only for fans of certain drivers. I, for example, like and hate watching F1 because I am a fan of F.A. (you must know the name of the driver), but I see that the FIA is getting desperate about Ferrari not dominating the championship like in 2004, and banning certain devices in order to make Ferrari the class of the pack.
Ugh...!!! Mosley makes me sick.
GO F.A. and RF1!!!!!

you comprehend once you watch F1 too plenty: once you may call each and all of the present F1 drivers with out the help from Wikipedia. you comprehend once you watch F1 too plenty: once you play each and all of the F1 video games that are out immediately continuously.

I enjoy all motorsport and the F1 boys are the creme de la creme.

After saying that , Rossi is much more entertaining than The Shumacher brothers.
