Anyone remember the wood weapon used by the main character in Tom Clancy's Net Force?

I read the book years ago, and while talking with a friend about it, we brought up that wooden walking stick, but I could not remember the details, and don't want to dig up that book and read it again, just to know this. Thanks in advance, for any help in the area.
