I have heard so many stories of Indian men in public just walking up and putting their hand on a white girls' breasts. Does this reflect a huge desire for white girls by Indian men?
Should I bring a condom, just in case I get raped?? I understand AIDS in India is especially common.

Sweety about the condom question first; you can bring one but rape is a crime of violence against women! I don't know how ya gonna make sure he or they; yeah that's where gang bang comes from, will put it on! I've heard same stories about aids! But you must respect yaself first; before ya start demanding respect! Respecting self means NOT going where some1 is likely to grab ya breasts! Good luck, Honey w/e ya do!

I wonder how many rapists stop to put on a condom, it would be a nice thought but I have heard stories of a woman asking their assailent to put on a condom and when made it to court it got thrown out because in her stopping to ask him to put on a condom it means she consented to it, now I don't know if there are any real truths to those stories or not but if you are going to be in an area where you are unfamiliar with maybe you should have someone who can protect you with you at all times, as far as the breast slapping I have never heard of that and as far as a Indian Man showing or giving respect to a female, I'd have to say just about as much as any other man, other than all that I hope you have a fun and safe trip, and good luck to you

well well well. i read everything just. no one should comment about any country as some has said.
INDIA is only country where u can get more respect ever than you have.But it depends on you that where and with whom you are.

Rather than desire it is the curiosity. Imagine while walking around in a zoo you see a flamingo in the peacocks' confines.
Respect can only be mutual. If you respect someone, they'll only return you that respect.
IT IS SAID women who get raped provoke men in the first place. And I am not sure why you wanna do that. You could be raped anywhere in the world, though the probablity that it'll be in India is far lesser.

Don't go by yourself and just use the same common-sense you'd use when travelling in other countries (don't carry too much cash, be wary of where you're going after dark, be aware of the bad neighbourhoods).
I think it's because they just don't see white ladies so they usually just stare. Especially as our clothing is different (clothing more modest for women in India).
If you're with your b/f or friends, they shouldn't touch you though.

Worked with a few indian guys in Dubai and found them to be very civilised. The problem you will experience is that as a tourist you will see and be amongst the poorer and lower cast in the streets. That may not be a good idea unless you travel with a group.

you are stereotypoing. I highly doubt they would do anything so stupid. Just don't go walking around in dark alleys. There are many tourists who visit India each year. Nothing ever happens to them. I've visited India once before too. It went perfectly well, except they do like staring at white chicks alot. Nothing more.

You could always try reading the lonely planet guide. Very useful and practical advise for travellers but in general always consider your safety and don't take risks that you wouldn't normally take. Dress appropriately and observe local customs to avoid offense.

don't believe these craps, india is great country, indians respect women more than any other countries, indians let an italian lady,(sonia gandhi, and we never thought that she is a foreigner, we treat her like one of us) to be our primeminister this year , don't worry, you'll be safe in india, you wont get hurt in anyway.
