The more expensive one has a faster processor (by .03 ghz), is a Pentium processor comared to centrino (much more powerful, but uses more power-lower battery life), has a faster Front Side Bus (the processor can handle more at a time), and has a bigger hard drive by 20gb. While the differences may seem negligible, I think you will be much happier with the more expensive one. The price difference isn't that great, and the performance boost you'll get by going with the higher FSB will make you a more happy person in the long run. But please don't buy electronics from walmart.

Your use of the adjective 'better' is misleading. You should have asked which of these two p.o.s. laptops is the bigger rip-off. Walmart has 'cheap' prices because they sell crap. Look at the included software, WOW, it's worthless, you can download better free software online. Adobe acrobat reader is included, it's FREE everywhere, yet they list it so it sounds better, OEM anti-virus that's crippled, uninstall that crap and get AVG for free!

Sorry I hate misleading ads, especially if they're from scam artists such as Walmart. Just the tip of the iceberg; That video chip in those two laptops is garbage, you'll be lucky if you'll be able to watch a dvd without it skipping/hiccupping. There ought to be a law....

to tell the truth I haven't looked at either one, but would never get a laptop from Walmart. Mine was being repaired so my boss let me borrow one he had just bought (2 weeks ago) from Wal Mart.(obviously he didn't like it either) Even though it was the same manuffacturer and had better specs than the one I've had for over 3 years, it is significantly slower. i.e. you get what you pay for

the difference lies in the processor speed, harddisk size, battery life, as well in software provided with laptop...
difference also lies in ports present in both laptops.
higher price has got a large diff in ports present.
