Good answers by the others. I second Welsh Witch. For heaven's sake get some house insurance, if only for building, if not contents. A friend of mine had a house fire last year and fortunately had insurance. Sell something if you have to to get a policy.

House insurance - contents cover at least - is too cheap NOT to have. Probably £15 a month, against losing everything in a fire, or a burglary. Get it!
I get buildings and contents cover for under £30 a month, from a very good company, who further discount my car cover. :-)))

you really ought to have house insurance, what would you do if you were burgled? Not to mention it has public liability cover with it, what would happen if something in your house hurt a visitor and they sued?
