|3x + 9/2| > 6
This problem for the absolute value
|2(3x ) + 2(9/2)| > 2(6)
Clearing the fraction by multiplying both sides of the equation by 2
|6x + 9| > 12
-9 -9
Subtract -9 from both sides
6x > 3
6x/6 > 3/6
Dividing 6 from both sides. since a division property was activated the Inequality sign > to <.
x < .5
Insert .5 in the x position
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - -
|3(,5) + 9/2| > 6
|1.5 + 4.5| > 6
|6| > 6
I believe the inequality sign should read greater than or equal to ≥ 6

True except when x is not equal to zero then it is 4.5 and when x
is whole number(+). Otherwise - 4 or lesser -5, -6 .... (-4)>x >0
If fractions then (-3.5)> x > 1/2 or 0.5
In a module negetive value is not taken into account.
Even if x is negetive |3x+9/2| is positive
-3.5x3 +4.5 = 6
0.5x3 +4.5 = 6
and on the negetive side as the |x| increases the number decreases - means the will not lie between -3.5 and 0.5

3x +9/2 > 6 or 3x+9/2< -6; so x>1/2 or x<-3 1/2

x= -1.5 so no that's not > 6
this is how u do it:
since its and absolute value of 3x + 9/2 u make that = to zero
then u -9/2 from zero and get -9/2 or -4.5
3x/3 to get x alone and to the side w/ -4.5 = -1.5
so then u take the absoulte value of -1.5 which is 1.5 and ask urself if that's greater than 6

maybe umm
3x+9/2>6
3x+9/2<-6
3x>3/2
x<-21/2
-7/2>x>1/2
sorry i dont have a concrete background on modulo this is if the line stands for absolute value

that means 3x+9/2 > 6 or < -6
or 3x > 6-9/2 or < -6 -9/2
or 3x > 1.5 or < -10.5
x > .5 or x < -3.5

3 times what number plus 4.5 is greater than 6?
Simple substitution. If "x" = .5 then 1.5 + 4.5 = 6
This does NOT solve your equation, the answer must be GREATER than 6.
Therefore "x" must be any number greater than .5

we split the equation into two equations.
3x + 9/2 > 6
and
3x + 9/2 < -6
solving, we get x > 1.5/3
and x < -3.5
we then obtain the union of these two sets.
so...
x > 0.5 U(or) x < -3.5

3x+9/2>6
3x+4.5>6
Subtract 4.5 from both sides
3x>1.5
Divide each side by 3
