I am in love with this beautiful woman who just happens to be of Mexican origin from Guerro, Mexico and i just happen to be An African American man and what i don't understand is why her family would prefer her to be with a mexican guy who treats her like crap and wants her to just stay home barefoot and pregnant or a white guy who is just into her for the thrill of it, than a guy like me who is in his second year of medical school and who has nothing but love for there daughter?????? What's the deal with Mexican and African American relations, besides aren't we both minorities??

Hispanics think they are better then AA. They also think they should be able to do whatever they want whether they are legal or not. AA are just trying to be treated fairly. You can't make her family like you. She is going to have to decide what she wants out of life. I am sure there are some beautiful AA women out there that would love to be with you.

Good luck

Moreso than racism, it's cultural xenophobia. But if you really want an answer, ask them. In many cultures it's considered inappropriate for you to approach their daughters without first having introduced yourself to, and been accepted (as a potential suitor) by, the family. If you didn't know that and behaved in a manner contrary to that, you're going to get resistance automatically because you've offended them before you were even aware of it. The fact that we're also considered minorities isn't a selling point to anyone on this issue, and is only relevant to people concerned with demographics. But if you pay more attention to winning the family over, you may see a lot of that resistance diminish....at any rate, it's your best shot.

What you need to understand is that they think still in the past. They still hold traditions or traditional thoughts. So they only want those people who sterotypically fit the tradition of their days. What you should do is sit down with your girl and explain how you feel and ask her what she thinks. Then after you both have told each other your sides and compromised that is when you go to the family and explain what you feel and think. Tell them that there is no one out there that will treat or love their daughter more than you do. If you really care for this girl then maybe you have to take chances by doing this. You can not live your life to the wishes of others. You need to live your life for you and your love. If you two are meant to be then you will agree and be able to handle anything. Good luck!

It is cultural issue, although there are many in nearly every group that do the samething. It is really nothing more than a sad result of narrowminded racists.

maybe you probably don't know them like that maybe her dad treats her mom the same way her guy is treating her and maybe they think that's right.there are cultures that treat women unfairly ya know.......so u might wanna give it some time or u can keep trying 2 prove yourself worthy to have a woman like her....and if she really wants to be with you and shes grown.......she doesn't need her parents to make the decision for her..........she'll follow her heart and choose to be with you

It's a cultural belief with her parents as to why she should not pursue other avenues. All you can do is hope she will shun those beliefs and do what makes her happy.

This is sad because we get discriminated on every day for the things they do and the way they look...if she really digs you what her parents say wont matter...they will get over it in time...
