why do I see lesbians who talk like guys, act like guys, as a whole they are NOT at all feminine, and gay guys that can be immediately spotted from a 100 metres because they are so feminine? Cuz in my opinion if someone like their own gender, then that person must be like that gender. Like if I were a lesbian that would mean I like girls, right? Then why in the world I would pick a girl who is like a guy, who doesn't wear make-up, who has very short hair? What is the point on that? Then why wouldn't I just pick a guy? I hope I am clear enough asking this question.
And please don't be mad, I am just really really curious, that's all. Thanks!

Tom M, yes I am streotyping here. So you ignore streotyping? Cuz like any other intelligent person, I know that everybody has their own types and tastes, they are limitless, so it is impossible to deal with and explain and make a point for each and every one of them separately, and that's why I had to "generalize" the issue. But everybody thinks generalizing people or things is a big no-no and not very nice, though for me it is necessary to come to a point.
Bare in mind that I don't insult them and I don't call them names.

lingua, I like your answer, thanks a lot.

I live in ft lauderdale, FL which has a huge gay community. For instance the three neighbor houses surrounding mine belong to gay couples. I see gay people every where, like the regular places I go. There is a bowling alley where they have gay leagues and stuff like that.

Trans-gender people want to physically become the opposite sex. Very often they will get the necessary surgery. If the don't do the surgery they will live as if they are the opposite sex. These people genuinely want to BE the opposite sex.

Homosexuals don't want to change their sex. They are either men who like men or women who like women. The fact that you can easily spot effeminate men and masculine women right off does not mean that you can spot all homosexuals. Many gay guys are "straight acting". Many gay men are not attracted to effeminate men. Lesbians that act like women are called "lipsticks".

You have posed a good question. That you ask it to begin with shows me that maybe you have not met enough gay and lesbian people to intelligently evaluate us. If you ever attend a gay pride, look at the audience. Most of the people in the audience look like normal people. Of course the media will only photograph ugly old drag queens and weird leather people. They are a part of us but they do not represent the vast majority of us. I don't think that all straight people should be represented by s&m bondage types - but hey if they were it would probably sell papers.

Being gay or lesbian is just being attracted to the same gender as oneself, while being transgendered is feeling like you yourself were not born the right gender. So a transgendered man might feel like he should have been born with a vagina and not a penis, whereas a gay man is ultra masculine in the sexual sense, loves his body as a man and loves other men's bodies in a sexual way. Sure, a lot of the masculinity you see in lesbians might actually be lesbian transgendered women... women who's brains are masculinized but they are missing male sex organs, but it also just might be a style. Some lesbian women maybe identify more with male things, male style or way of being, though they still feel fine with their female parts... like a tomboy I guess. Same thing with certain gay men. A gay man might have grown up his whole life playing with dolls and being feminine, always having girlfriends and being into fashion, and then he ends up exhibited very feminized behavior, but still likes being a man.

yes. Gays and lesbians are attracted to people of their own sex. Transgendered people covers a large amount of ground, including transvestites/cross dressers, drag queens, pre- no- and post-op transexuals. With the exception of cross dressers, who are 99.9 percent heterosexual, and only dress for sexual arousal and/or pysychological comfort, most transgendered feel that their external sex does not match their internal gender. Some of these people desire to be treated as and live as women, whether they have gender reassignment surgery or not. The ones who have gender reassignment are generally interested in people of the opposite sex from their gender. As in, a male to female transexual will be interested in guys. As for the no-ops, it's a mixed bag. Some are interested in people of the same sex, and some are interested in people of the same gender.

Hope this helps

Remarks: Big - Homosexuality and transgenderism are never a choice. You can't choose who you are attracted to, and you can't choose to have gender dysphoria.

Gender, sex and sexual attraction are not the same thing, but different facets of what makes a person. Your sex is your biological sex; gender is the male or femaleness you feel and express; sexual attraction is the sex of the person you are attracted to.

Masculinity and femininity are different from being male and being female. Each person has some of each (masculinity and femininity) in him or her. So you'll see some women (some of them are straight) who are more masculine than average, and some men (some of them straight) who are more feminine than average.

But this is totally different than being born in one body, with the entire internal identify of the opposite gender. That's what a transgendered person is. Theoretically, a transgendered person may be very masculine, or very feminine or display a balance of each.

i've always wondered the same thing. i know a women who is lesbian & she looks more like a male & goes for pretty girls, but then i know a gay guy who looks at men who make me drool too. so i guess it all depends on the individuals preference, different people find different things attractive. i dont mean for this to sound bad but you could ask the same question about boys who have a feminine look to them or to girls who are tomboys.

So far there have been some intelligent answers to the questions.
one point i want to make i have seen lots of men who marry women women who look like butch dykes ( no offence ment) you could ask are these men closet queens, i think not. regardles of sexuallity we all have different tastes in who we are attracted to or lots of us would miss out on partners. also lots of women wear trousers no make up and have short hair and not lesbians. perhaps you should be asking are you steriotyping gay men, lesbians and transgendered people.

A homosexual is someone who retains their own sexuality, but who chooses to have sex with people of the same sex. A transgendered person is one who goes through the medical process of changing sexes to experience sex with the gender they USED to be. Either way, it's perverted. But thankfully, God and heal these people of their perversion if they let Him.
