Be fore you say stupid...
It was a straightaway in the country. I could see everything.
120mph on a '93 Yamaha Seca ii (not made to go that fast)
really fast on a '83 Honda 900 CBC (speedo only goes uo to 85)
My fav is still the GZP550
I guess when you start on a 4 cylinder bike you can't take up a twin.

138 mph on a 1972 Moto Guzzi LeMans 750 in 4th gear. The ex-wife started pounding on my back when we hit 5th!
