I'm going to be a Senior in highschool this coming school year and my parents have decided to give me a mini-van, I don't want it, but I can't change their minds.

I wouldn't want to drive one, but you'll be less likely to be pulled over for speeding, because people will think you're older. Think of all the people you can carry in that beast... make them all give you a dollar, every time you give them a ride!

And I agree with the badass comment.

Why would your parents want you to get a mini-van? If I were you, I'd keep referring to your future van as the "shag wagon" in the hopes that they WILL change their minds.

As for being a loser in HS with a van, it's all in how you rock it out. If your parents are nice enough to buy the car for you (I had to buy mine myself), consider yourself lucky. You're not a loser in that respect.

Just remember that when you get older and can choose to buy whatever car you want...If you choose a mini-van, THEN you're a loser. :)

Not bad at all - you can party with a whole bunch of freinds or just that one. - be careful of course -

Vans are sweet. Don't sweat it. Just use it - you can do all kinds of stuff - how handy. If you are worried about some razzing about it.... don't ...good is good that's all there is to it. You can get yourself a 5.0 when you can afford it.

Performance does rock - I can understand that need - I had a motorcycle as my hotrod and a crappy beater that was reliable. Datsun B210 - awsome s*hitbox.

Well, you're a loser already, so driving a mini-van won't make you one. It's better to say that it'll just suit you well.

just be happy with having a vehicle.

ever since my car died on me my parents make me drive either the station wagon or our mini-van.

my friend joke with me about it and call me "soccer mom"\

and when i was in high school there was a guy who always drove a mini-van but everyone knew who it was and they didn't care.

it gets you from point a to point b.

Worrying about being a loser makes you a loser. Seriously! Just be confident in yourself and to heck with everyone else!

No, the kids without a car will be bigger losers. Having said that, if everyone in your high school has a car, people will snicker at you.

You are very fortunate that they are GIVING you a vehicle.
You could get a job and pay for the vehicle and insurance yourself.

A car is just something that gets you from one place to another, too many people consider it a "status symbol".

no mini vans are really cool to take to drive-ins and to haul all your friends at least your parents are cool enough to give it to you instead of selling it and you walking.
