spray or a weedkiller application bar ensuring you dont get it on your borders etc
apply when dry and still and forcast is dry for about 2 hours
don't use if windy you'll kill everything else due to drift

go to your local farm store where you will be able to discuss this with people who are experts with dealing with weeds. Roundup is OK but there are better products on the market that you can't buy at the local home depot. Apply in warm weather, dry and while the weeds are actively groing ie. not after you just mowed or trimmed

I'd use Sodium Chlorate as its cheap and easy to get hold of, they sometimes have it in the Pound shops! You apply it as a solution using an old plastic watering can that you don't use for anything else - write on the side in permanent marker. Use it in the mornin on a dry day, after its dries its fairly harmless but you might want to hose the area down before you let your pets walk on it as they lick their feet.
One application lasts up to 6 months.

Application:
evening/morning - your choice
dry/wet - dry is better and you apply about one hour prior to rain
Round Up Concentrate is sold almost everywhere. Walmart even carries it.

I'd use roundup in a sprayer (mixed according to the instructions)
It helps if you knock the top of the weed with a weed-eater so the roundup has an easier time getting into the plant.
