Class actions can make the process be longer because everybody involved have to agree on the settlement. I know someone that is a part of the breast implant class action started in 1994 that is still waiting for theirs...but this was thousands of women and it's not a typical situation. Hang in there and I'm sorry for your loss.

It can take a very long time. Why don't you talk to your attorney and ask him (her) where he is along the timeline of the case. Ask him what steps remain before the case is finalized. Since this is a class action suit, you may have a tough time getting specific answers from "THE" attorney, but there should be someone at the firm who can answer your questions.
Be warned, that the responsible party has very little motivation to settle/finalize the case because it just means that they will pay $$$, whereas you've lost your parents, incurred funeral expenses and other out-of-pocket expenses.
But, your best source of information is the attorney handling the case. Perhaps you could have him draw you a timeline (two years into the case he should have a pretty good idea where it is going...).
Sorry about your parents. Good Luck.

It is not really possible to answer your question. Trial court funding varies from state to state and even county to county. There is even a difference between federal and state cases. The amount of time it takes a case to get to trial depends on the number of judges, courtrooms available and the number and types of cases pending in that court. You didn't even specify what state this case was in. You'll need to provide more information.

Really hard to say
Some companies will try to settle right away to control the bad press. others will fight it out and that could be a lot more years yet to come.
even if you get a judgment they can still file an appeal and then you have to start all over.
I hate to burst your bubble but keep in mind you could be in for a long fight

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Unfortunetly, the insurance companies for all involved usually are not, I am not 100% sure but I believe that about a 3yr time frame is to be expected.
