Had their been such an instance, Israel would use it as its only defence that they - at one time - were pro peace. It would be published all over CNN and all the news, just to show Israel as a humanitarian country for ONCE. But since this instance does not exist, Israel is, and shall always remain, anti-peace.

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and the only ally the US has in the region. They are surrounded on all sides by terrorists.
Israel gave up large tracts of land and bulldozed their own settlements to give the Palestinians their own country. However, this did not satisfy the terrorists. Time and time again they have sent suicide bombers and missiles to kill innocent civilians. Israel even built a wall to try to keep terrorists out, but the raids kept coming and they were on constant terror alert. Now Hamas and Hezbollah, two of the terrorists groups, have kidnapped Isaeli soldiers. They have taken over the government of Lebanon. Israel has had enough. They are now doing what the US should be doing - destroying the headquarters of the terrorists. These are the same terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 and have attacked Britain, India and other countries. That's why they cannot be trusted

I agree with others, Israel has been pro-peace much of the time. And I think the examples you were given were pretty good.
What Israel did not do, and should have done, is build up the economy of the Palestinians. Their rage is mostly an act of desperation at their living conditions.
The Hezbollah on the other hand are a different species of animal. They exist solely to attack Israel. Much as I hate what is going on in Lebanon at the moment, Israel could not afford to leave them alone any longer. At this point, that is pretty obvious.
I am not a fan of Israel, and never have been. I do understand what they feel the need to do in Lebanon. From the number of missiles stockpiled there, it was probably long overdue.

I think for the most part Israel is always pro peace. If you remember during Americas first war with Iraq Iraq was continually launching Scud missiles on Israel. Israel was asked not to respond and allow America to deal with Iraq to keep the other Arab countries from wigging out much as they do anytime Israel defends itself. Now If you can think back you will see that Israel while being fired on and they're people being under attack did nothing. Go ahead and name an Islamic country that is capable of such restraint.Israel is a peacefull country and would very much appreciate being left alone if anyone could convince there terrorist to leave them alone they would find Israel easy tog get along with. The fact is many Islamic countries want them Annihilate and they must defend themselves or be killed and when attacked they defend themselves so people like you can call them war mongers for self defense. ridiculous!

not you, you have just been reported for your prejudiced post.
"Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and the only ally the US has in the region. They are surrounded on all sides by terrorists."
Of course. We are all surrounded by terrorists. They are everywhere.
"Israel even built a wall to try to keep terrorists out"
Somewhat like the Germans did to the Jews. It's a shame Israel never learned anything from that.
"Now Hamas and Hezbollah, two of the terrorists groups, have kidnapped Isaeli soldiers."
Incorrect. They were taken prisoner by Hezbollah on Lebanese soil.
"They have taken over the government of Lebanon."
That is a vague and unsubstantiated accusation.
"Israel has had enough. They are now doing what the US should be doing - destroying the headquarters of the terrorists."
Schools, airports, hospitals, civilian homes and mosques are terrorist headquarters???
"These are the same terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 and have attacked Britain, India and other countries. That's why they cannot be trusted"
No. *Al Qaeda* attacked the U.S. on 9-11. Israel's opponents are *Hamas* and *Hezbollah*.

well when you ask a more informed question maybe you will get a positive answer ... Israel has given up alot and tried to make concessions for peace and none of its neibours will ever accept it ... they just want Israel destroyed. Dont forget the US was a "rogue" country when it was formed ... you either kick the doody out of the people that dont like it or ... what would you have them do ? sit idly by while their neibours constantly increase the severity of attacks on Israel? Israel doesnt try to expand its boarders they would be happy just being left alone ... that will never happen ... they are totally justified in trying to root out hezbolla, and contrary to what you see on the news, none of those "civilians" that are killed are friendly to Israel ... yes children die .. and if given the chance hezbolla would have no reservations about completely destroying Israel including all women and children ... its called war and its never pretty but Israel is defending and securing itself .. a totally rational, realistic and justified thing. any bleeding heart saying they dont have the right is either adamantly against Israel and an enemy proper or is uninformed about reality.

ISRAEL has always been PRO-PEACE...they have been chased around the globe for thousands of years by groups and countries that seek their complete extinction from the face of the earth..this is yet another attempt...The U.S. is the "only" friend they have, and Israel is taking their final stand...they refuse to die, and I for one "LOVE" them for that !!!
Hezbollah knew "EXACTLY" what the Israeli response would be when they kidnapped the two soldiers, and so the Arab terrorists pukes backed by Iran and Syria are getting exactly what they hoped for...Death and destruction
The problem with the Lebonese people is the leadership...exactly the same as the democrat leadership in the U.S.,...promise them the whole enchillada and snatch it away as soon as they get their support.

Israel is 'enjoying' a cold peace with Egypt. It gave Egypt back the Sinai desert to achieve that peace.

Giving up the Gaza Strip which they controlled after being attacked by Egypt. Giving up the Golan Heights which they controlled after being attacked by Syria. The peace accord with Egypt. Those are just three ... there are more.
