I have found a tree in my yard that looks like it has baby Chestnuts on it, but it is not a chestnut tree. What is it?

the tree looks like a chestnut tree. the nuts on the tree are babies and have not become hard shelled yet. the nuts look like a chestnut with the sharp outside. it isnt a buck eye or an acorn. could it be a chickpen ?

Could be an oak tree, and those baby chestnuts could be acorns. Most likely there is a similar tree in your yard or neighbor's yard. Trees just don't pop up and grow out of nowhere. A seed from another nearby tree was able to adapt to the environment in your yard.

There is no way to tell from your description what the tree is. A picture or a botanical description would help greatly.
