"It is their home", that's about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I have a home that I've been living in for 13 years. A home that I've planted gardens in and raised kids in. If I was warned by a state that has a history of keeping it's promises that my neighborhood was going to be bombed tomorrow, you can bet your bippy that I'd hightail it out of town.
"It's their home". Well, it's now their burial site.
Now, on to the actual question.... there can really only be a few reasons:
1) They didn't believe that Israel would do it. (foolish considering the past).
2) Hezbollah prevented them from leaving HOPING for civilians casualties to embarrass Israel.
My limited imagination can't conceive of any other reasons.

Finally - an intelligent question about the Israeli/Hezbollah war!!! Note, I did not say "Lebanese," but Hezbollah since that's who Israel is fighting.....if innocent Lebanese get killed they're called "collateral damage" and you get that in any war....and that includes innocent children. If kids get killed, blame their parents, not the Israelis - they were warned to get out. But, this is what happens when you have a bunch of cowardly chickens***, ***hole terrorists like Hezbollah - they hide behind the innocents and when the women and children get killed, the world goes "isn't that awful?" Obviously, they - Hezbollah - know the power of negative propaganda. The Israelis are in the right on this and have been since the beginning and I hope they wipe Hezbollah off the face of the earth.....and if it means they have to go in and occupy Lebanon, so be it. Then you can have some jerk like the leader of Iran calling for a jihad against the Israelis once again.

It is either take a chance on death from a bomb, or certain death at the point of a Hezbollah rifle. What would you choose? If the civilians flee the fighting area, who would the Hezbollah hide behind? They would be open and exposed, so they do not want the civilians to flee. They brainwash the ignorant peasants into believing that Hezbollah is protecting them, when it is really the other way around.

If you had been listening to the news instead of hearing only what you wanted to hear, you would know that all of the people who could afford to evacuate have. The ones that the Israelis are slaughtering are the ones to poor to leave.

Cause Israel might have bombed them when they fled anyway. They've done it twice before. Besides, if a foreign country was telling you to flee your home and leave your life behind would you? No - you'd show the planes the Vs and stay.

Hezbollah don't want them to leave. They were firing rockets a few yards from there knowing they would get fired back at. Israel's army doesn't fire anything near their citizens. Those people were warned better than I have ever heard of an army warning.

There was no where to go and no way to get there. It's not like rednecks in trailer parks when tornados and hurricanes are predicted and they insist on stay at home.
