I'm not all that hot for it, but my wife is. So much so, that I bought her a 1st edition "Interview With a Vampire", a signed Anne Rice signature book card, and an unopened bottle of Anne Rice's "Victim" beer. She's worth it.

Anne Rice is my favorite author! Especially the Vampire Chronicles! I particularly enjoyed the middle of the series where she dealt with a lot of mysticism, the human soul and philosophy.

I read her most recent novel, Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt and was not as impressed as I had been with earlier work. It seemed that when she dealt directly with the mysticism of Jesus - instead of through metaphor and device - she reverted to a more bland narrative style. Still enjoyed it though!

Loved the Vampire books, and wish there would be more to the series, but from what I've read on the internet, Anne is done with them.

I read the first five several years ago. I enjoyed the original and Tale of the Body Thief the most. Memnoch the Devil wasn't to bad either. It was the last one I read.
