putting something off. like if i have work to do, but decide to do it later, that can be considered procrastination.

more specifically, it's putting something (relatively) important off by doing something unimportant. for example, if i don't want to do work and put it off by playing a video game, that's procrastination

It means to put off doing something....like for example, by going to Yahoo Answers and goofing up instead of doing chores, errands or homework.
