It's easier to suspend disbelief and get into the film if you sit in the dark. Theatre movies would be almost impossible to see on the big screen otherwise because of light diffusion. And in the theatre, fewer distractions and people talk less than they would if the lights were on. I turn the lights off to watch DVDs at home even though they say it's bad for your eyes.

May be because they don't want to show their faces to actors in a movie. What not like this!
Ok , Tv screen or Cinema screen both are bright to avoid that brightness people prefer to watch movies in the dark and they can also entertain if they are in the theater.
