A victim does not allow/invite themselves to be used...Therefore the victim originally was Israel! That being said, Lebanon just did try to break free of Syria, who had their in place, underground goons, start a war in hopes of occupying Lebanon once again!

I honestly do not see how Israel can be a victim!!! Lebanon sure is the victim of the terror of Israeli government & army.
2 soliders abducted!! are the Israelis trying to be funny!! they have been killing innconet civilians for decades and now they complain that 2 soliders were abducted!! well, if they are trying to be funny, they sure are not. I would have given it a thought if they were 2 civilians, but to kidnapp soldiers while at a state of war and complain that is rediclous.

If you want to evaluate the victim from the agressor in terms of figures, just take a look at the numbers killed, displaced, wounded and you will reach the conclusion that no victim has ever made less losses than the aggressor!!

It has to be remembered that Israel was our main allies in the Middle East when the majority of Arab nations were sided with the Soviet Union. It also has to be remembered that the Soviets oppressed the Christians and the Jews, but gave Islam free reign. Also while the Arabs say they were there first, there has been a Jewish presence when Israel is not going back to antiquity, and while Rome did scatter the Jews, even after 73 C.E. there remained a Jewish presence there. The Arabs want to deny this, but it has been proved via archaeological findings. The Arabs are NOT innocent in this at all, they are not Victims at all. Jordan was created by the Arabs to prevent Palestine from being located there. All of this anti-Jews, and US nonsense is Arab propaganda.

It also has to be noted that we have never supported Israel with by putting our troops into their war. This is not the same for the Arabs. We have put our troops on the ground to keep them out of the fire.

Well, Israel strategic location aided our foreign policy goals during the Cold War, and is aiding our War on Terror. Of course it can be said that Israel's existence is the reason for the Terrorist activity, but such does predate Israel's existence. France and England cut up the region after the First World War to exploit tribal differences, destabilize the region and secure the oil sources.

Both.

Israeli civilians have suffered for years at the hands fanatics who want nothing less than their total destruction. This is not in question as the terror groups have reinterated this fact over and over for all who would listen.

Lebanese civilians are suffering also. This is due more to their government's unwillingness to follow international agreements and disarm the terrorists. Any state which harbors terrorists is by definition a terrorist state. So while I have great empathy for the plight of these people, their government could have avoided this situation.

I wish people would learn the history of this conflict. It is not about 2 kidnapped soldier, that is just the catalyst for the latest round of fighting. Also for everyone who keeps posting about innocent civilians in Lebanon and the tyranny of Israel, you are all hypocrits. You cry and whine about innocent civilians in Lebanon, but never a word of concern for innocents dying in Israel. I do not just mean innocents who are dying currently from Hezbollah's rocket attacks, but more the many who have died from years of suicide bombings in their country. I would be really curious to see what most of your reactions would be if you had to live under that constant threat everyday of your life. In short your words are hollow because you only have sympathy for one side, and strangely enough it is the side which embraces terrorism, talk about screwed up priorities. I hope you never have to know the horrors Israel has faced, but if Israel falls you will know it, because the wider western world is the terrorists next target.

see yourself : first group of pics for israeli children write messages at rockets from israel to lebanon
second group : the message recieved
third group : lebanon after the messages

that is the link :

http://www.grenc.com/sfiles/lebnon/2LebaneseCivilians.htm

by the way , about that conflict :

1. Before the current conflict broke out, why was Hezbollah shooting rockets at Isreal across the border?

Hezbollah was throwing rockets at Israel because the two parties have been engaged in skirmishes since Israel withdrew in 2000. It is practically impossible to say, for every incident, who started it. Israel also has been making incursions into Lebanon in the South and kidnapping Hezbollah "suspects." This is, over and above the people already kidnapped during the Israeli invasion, who were never returned home after Israel withdrew. Israel does not bother documenting whether the people it kidnaps are effectively Hezbollah and no one knows anything about them after they are kidnapped. Further, Hezbollah never saw it as Israel having totally withdrawn from Lebanese territory, and thus, no more at war with Lebanon. To be fair-handed, the territory disputed by Hezbollah is not being disputed with Israel by the Lebanese government.

2. When Hezbollah crossed the border into Israel to kill and kidnap soldiers, how do you think Israel should have responded?

Israel could have entered into negotiations with Hezbollah through a third party to exchange prisoners. There is no denying the existence of Hezbollah and this I won't talk to "terrorists" attitude is not realpolitik. Hezbollah themselves claim that there is no such thing as Israel and it has no right to exist, yet they are more sensible, in that they will negotiate through a third party.

3. How many Arab prisoners does Israel have and how/when were they captured?

Israel has thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of both Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners. The very majority of them were captured in Palestinian or Lebanese territories. Israel bulldozes into Palestinian neighborhoods routinely, and kidnaps people there in the middle of the night, or early morning hours.

4. Israel withdrew from Southern Lebanon (2000) and Gaza (2006) but both areas are now used to launch rocket attacks against Israel. What incentive does this give Israel to withdraw from the West Bank?

It costs Israel more to continue occupying the West Bank in both human and financial ways than it does to withdraw. As for security, in the long run, occupation is way more dangerous, with the injustice and humiliation it imposes on the occupied, than withdrawal, even if rockets continue to be launched against Israel after it withdraws. By the way, those rockets are not launched without Israeli provocation. As is the case with Hezbollah, the skirmishes never stop, and you can never say that some rocket launching came out of the blue. The Palestinians in the occupied territories and in the territories where Israel has supposedly withdrawn are subject to ongoing persecution by the Israeli authorities.

lebanon

Israel does not have the right to kill all of these innocent people. Israel was always attacking and killing people in that area. When Hizbullah started the thing this time, they made israel the victim. Israel was always starting it before. It's not convincing that israel can do all of that only for these 2 captured soldiers.

I can't answer precisely who the 'victim' is, but it's a pointless war (aren't they all.) It clearly states in the Bible that Israel is God's chosen country, and therefore any war against them is fruitless because Israel have His protection.
