which means you have been conned..... some fish farms used color booster to bring out the color of the fish when they are still very young. The young fish looks good in the shop and fetch a better price, however, it will start to fade and turn albino in a couple of months.
I have had a goldfish (ranchu) which turn albino 3 to 4 months after I bought it.... it never returned back to color.

Put it into a well-lit room, goldfish that don't get any light turn completely white. If you're still worried consult your vet or the pet store which you bought it from.

Its probably not getting enough light. We had one that hid behind a large rock in our 55 gallon tank for months because we had a very large very hungry fish in with them. We gave the large fish to a local school and the gold fish came out and he was white.

theis is something call ick ...it sounds like your fish has an advance stage ? but I am not an expert did it begin by dots ??
website below has some information on it ....
you can usually go to most aquarium pet stores and the people working in that area usually have good knowledge
on the other hand it could be normal for some fish
go to this forum link they'll be able to give you expert advise--ie if he is a golf fish it is probably normal

some fish are coloured bu additives in their food and the food you give them at home does altar their colour, they give them these to make the gold golder as the original colour of the gold fish is like the one you have now i think this colour is lovely as i have had several this colour and they seem to live longer an have less problems with breeding faults and illnesses

white doesn't mean albino.
albino fishes have red eyes and are often yellow.
white goldfish and color changing goldfish arent rare.

Pay attention, it might suffer from a disease called 'point blanc' in French - a translation could be 'white spot'. A Fish typically suffers from that and often dies.
