OK, firstly, I'm from the UK so a lot of what I have to say might not apply.

Yes, I like comics.
I like them for their artwork, I especially like fantasy and sci fi comics
I have seen some japanese comic 'books'. but few. One that I did see was a YuGiOh book, that I thought about buying for my kids. But it was graphically very violent and adult, (wheras the tv show is not) so I didnt buy it. The artwork is uniquely japanese, (I have seen western attemps to copy it, in a recent ad campaign over here, and it just dosnt work)
I think there are significant differences, in themes, style, and artwork. During the 1950s to the 70s American comics functioned under 'the comics code of america' which was essentially censorship, and that leaked over to the UK too. Comics were for kids only, adult comic books were exclusively 'gung ho' war story novels, without graphic violence.

Comics for older kids and adults emerged here in the 1980s, and 90s, and go under the name of 'graphic novels' rather than being called 'comics'.

I would say that a countries comics reflect its culture.

I'm an American that loves anime and manga so I hope my below answers help:

1. Yes, I like comics.

2. Reading comics is entertaining and I like to escape the stresses and worries of everyday life by immersing myself in a good story. Additionally, the artwork can be astounding. I am continually amazed at how real background can appear in anime or the depth of emotion on a character's face in manga.

3. Yes, I have read manga. I really enjoy it. It can give insight to a character that you can't get by just watching the anime. Or it can expand on the story. When I read manga, I don't think I am reading a comic but something akin to a novel...a story that needs to be told.

4. Yes, there is a vast cultural difference between Japanese and America comics. Americans can be VERY closed minded when it comes to nudity and sex. It can be very funny in manga (yes, I find ecchi funny). Also, Americans are not tolerate of same sex topics, for example shojo-ai or shounen-ai. Additionally, I generally find manga to be more thought provoking, as well as stirring deep emotions, than American comics.

5. Comic lovers can have their own culture.....the world of comics is not something universally understoon. It takes another lover of comics to understand the fan groups, etc.

I hope this information helps.

1. Yes, I like comics

2. I like them becuz unlike watching anime, you get to use your own imagination on how the character's voice will be like and other not so important details absent within a comic.

3. The usual

4. Not much difference, a comic is a comic, except the way the Japanese draw there characters. as you all know, most are patterened as an anime figure(which is unique and original in your culture) or cute cuddley furry animals who has dots for eyes. O.o In America, they tend to pattern theirs as a more realistic type but in a cartoony sort of way. (Archie comics, marvel, capcom yadayadayadayada)

5. I donnu sorry xD I can't understand the questions, pls rephrase that. thank you

Konnichwa, naka naka ii shitsumon desu ne.

1. Yes I like comics but not porno comics.

2. Because through comics we can learn a good chapter/story easily while enjoying. Comic is not boring like our school books. However, if our books are also like comics we could learn much faster.

3. Some Japanese comics are good but most of them are full of nonsense and porno. I prefer foreign comic than Japanese.

4. Yes there is a big difference, in size, in material, and at least Americans do not read porno comics in front of ladies or kids as Japanese do in train.

5. This world? or word? any way. comic is one of culture. It could not be a culture but could be a tradition in some sense.

Hi. My answer(s) probably won't answer ur questions, but I'd like to share that when I was a cartoon-watching-kid, I always found the Japanese cartoons attractively innovative. The detailed artwork & annimation were beautiful; attention-grabbing & attention-holding. Back then, I was hooked on "Speed Racer" .(Sing w/ me, Baby Boomers: "Go Speed Racer; go Speed Racer; go Speed Racer...go!) As a channel-surfing adult, I came across "The Munchichis"; got hooked & was actually sad when it was cancelled. Yes, I'm admitting this on the world-wide internet.

So, the above has nothing 2 do w/ comics, but ...

Let me know how ur paper/report turns out. I wish u well.

(By the way, since Japan invented karaoke, is that a hobby of urs? ...just askin'.)

first of all they are not the same......
do you mean manga
anyway..
1. i like japanese comics

2. i like them because its interesting i haven't read much american comics so i don't really have the right to say that american comics are boring but i still like japanese comics better

3. i read japanese comics and for some reason i just can't stop reading them im addicted some people are like that i guess some people don't like manga ;( so sad

4.. japanese comics are based on a story which is better than american comics i guess american comics are boring i think though its not much of an explanation cause its my opinion anyway

5. i think that comics are just another way to write stories for everyone to read because some people hate reading 'regular' books though i like reading 'regular' books, but mangas are more interesting (some) like 'regular books'

I LOVE READING THEM and watching animes too i wish i could uunderstand japanese and read them cause the animes sometimes don't have subtitles so i can't undertand ;(
your welcome!

1. Yes, I do.
2. mainly because of the story plots. art comes in second. I belive that good graphics ar only necessary to catch the attention of the public and that a good plot makes a good story. I like comics because while reading it, you don't have to pop veins on your brain thinking "whadda hell?", "wait, i don't get it, is this dude wearing a red jacket? where is this place?!" or something like that.
3. It's fun to read, heh, really! it is! my first reaction (on seeing the right-to-left-format) was "eh?" I thought it was challenging so i read. its pretty good and funny.
4. the direction. and the way of making people laugh (in anime: what the characters do american: what the characters say)
5. Comics affect our lives greatly. sometimes we read too much, they affect our studies. you idolize the characters too much, you worship them and do whatever they do. Also, people read comics as a temporary source of enjoyment.

uh, hope that helped. Good luck on your speech!

1) YES!

2) They are some thing to read. They are interesting little reminder on what I grew up on, and it seams when I grow up so dose the subject matter in the books.

3)I like them. Like MOMO peach girl etc.

4) They drawing of the book. There now seams to be a merger in styles of books right now. At least in American side of things.

5) I can go with that saying. It is cultures around the world merging in to one.
