all you people demand an end to violence, but are you so blind as to realize Hezbollah is not asking for peace at all, they're asking for WW3, they don't care if Israel pushes them back because there will always be civilians to hide among

It takes two to tango, and if one side doesn't want peace, how the HELL do you have a ceasefire? have you all gone retarded or did your fathers not beat you enough?

march_girl, wtf, USA wasn't even mentioned in this question..

this is about Israel & Hezbollah and the end to violence

David_S, Exactly, that's their mindset, so there should never be ceasefire, They do not WANT peace, so Israel needs to destroy these scum.

Even though you would obviously agree with the terrorists you did answer the question indirectly - in that there will be no ceasefire until Israel is done.

You know, m, even though I believe Hezbollah did start it because they had no reason to exist after Israel stopped occupying Lebanon, I want you to think about this

This question is aimed towards the U.N. type of crowd, who are 'demanding' a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Hezbollah does NOT want peace, period.
Let me make it clear.. the opposite of peace is war, so that means they want everlasting war.

Israel does not want to invade their country, or they could do so and end this in a matter of three weeks at best and have the whole country occupied.

So..even if you agree with Hezbollah, you have to admit - there can be no ceasefire.

You can have a ceasefire, whenever both sides want a break in the killing. However, that is not peace. Peace comes when you allow both sides to prosper economically.

Lebanon was just starting to become prosperous, and was about to get rid of Hezbollah, which is why Israel attacked Lebanon and destroyed its infrastructure -- to keep it poor, and prevent it from eliminating Hezbollah.

As long as there is no viable government and no prosperity, there will be no peace. So they had to do to Lebanon what they did to the West Bank - prevent stability, prosperity and peace.

The current Israel government has too much to gain from war to allow peace to break out. As Eisenhower said: "Beware the Military Industrial Complex."

Why do you think Rabin was killed? He would have brought peace to Israel and the Middle East.

Hezbollah has been trained for years by the Iranian government, and funded by Syria and Iran. Iran wants a nuke (period) Iran wants the entire world to ONLY be muslim, if you are not Muslim...then you will no longer be needed on planet earth. Iran believes that the MESSIAH will not return until the great satan ( The U.S. and Israel) are destroyed. Hezbollah is the "stick" by which Syria and Iran are using to poke Israel in the eye with, so that Israel will call on the U.S. to help and the "war" will start. The Nuke is for the rest of us...including you, my friend. That is why Hezbollah does not target military hardware...they want to kill as many "zionists" and "gentiles" as possible. They only pretend to be primitive in using their weapons, saying..."we can't really "aim' these...only hit what we can, when we can !
Make no mistake...this is a giant "CHESS GAME" thought out by the Islamic clerics in Iran for years, in yet "another" attempt to control the world.

Say what you want...The big picture is this...Iran "will" kill ALL non-Muslims given the chance...This is the next attempt to rule the word, the islamic clerics have been planning this for years...The U.S., and other govs. have known this for years. George Bush positioned the U.S. in Iraq for a reason--To get as close to Iran as possible--Yes, we were probably lied to about the U.S. intentions in the region, and the WMD'S, etc...although true, this was to keep the minds of the American people occupied while the real, purpose was being implimented...Go to Afghanistan, then to Iraq, we are where we are supposed to be...The american people think that Israel and Hezbollah are having a little skirmish, only because the gov knows "YOU CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH". You have to think "bigger" IRAN hopes that you won't. The world is asleep at the wheel again...Iran knows this and the U.S. is trying to wake us up before it's too late again...If we could "ask" Winston Churchill...he would tell you the story of how everyone thought he was "nuts" for his constant warnings about Germany

How can there be peace with a thief who remains in possession of your land? Just because the thief has a temporary advantage in firepower is no reason not to continue trying to recover your property from him. And I hope that the Jews pay later for every Arab who falls now. Two for one. And ten for Rachel Corrie.

Asker, Israel IS the thief. The Arabs ARE in the right. The 58 years of Israel's existence hasn't changed the nature of things, nor will another 58 years, if Israel lasts that long.

Not only that, Israel IS the biggest terrorist in the region. It's wars are usually not defensive wars: they are wars of aggression for which Israel holds up some pretext or other, so that they can claim that they are "defending themselves," when, in fact, they are stealing territory or resources.

My personal grudge against the Jews has to do with being forced, against my will, to subsidize Israel, when, if I had to choose to help somebody, it'd be the Arabs because they are in the moral right. I don't get my choice because the Jews control the politics in America, too.

If I weren't being involved in the Middle East conflict through my taxes, I wouldn't care which side won in the Middle East. But until Israel gives America back its money, I'm going to cheer for the Arabs.

The Asker's argument is implicitly based on Israel's superior military power. Israel has fired rockets into Arab countries. Don't those countries now have the right to invade and occupy Israel and bomb Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and drive Israelis out of all the little villages along the way and make them refugees squatting in UN camps?

What? No? You DON'T think that the Arab countries have this right? Why isn't sauce for the goose also sauce for the gander? You see the problem with the argument, now, I hope. It is implicitly loaded in Israel's favor, and the amazing thing is that the immoral lopsidedness of that argument can go completely over the heads of so many people.

The official policy of Hamas and Hezbollah is that Israel should be pushed back into the med.

It has to be remembered that Israel was our main allies in the Middle East when the majority of Arab nations were sided with the Soviet Union. It also has to be remembered that the Soviets oppressed the Christians and the Jews, but gave Islam free reign. Also while the Arabs say they were there first, there has been a Jewish presence when Israel is not going back to antiquity, and while Rome did scatter the Jews, even after 73 C.E. there remained a Jewish presence there. The Arabs want to deny this, but it has been proved via archaeological findings. The Arabs are NOT innocent in this at all, they are not Victims at all. Jordan was created by the Arabs to prevent Palestine from being located there. All of this anti-Jews, and US nonsense is Arab propaganda.

It also has to be noted that we have never supported Israel with by putting our troops into their war. This is not the same for the Arabs. We have put our troops on the ground to keep them out of the fire.

i disagree with you , Hezbollah , did not start military aggression , what they are doing now is retaliation to a war that Israel is hell bent on ... as for the ww3 this is not because hazbe ala it is because on we are now a one polar international community .

Israel is the aggressor , if they stopped , hazeb alla will stop... please read more , see the other side of the story .. do not be quick to judge

I did not say that Israel did what it is doing because the want the land , though they do have that on there agenda, remember mazara shabaa" but they did it because they want to show that olmart government is strong and as power full as it;s predecessor, remove any sort of Resistance from Lebanon , which is not fair , if apart of the Lebanese land is occupied , if Israel wanted peace , it could have given back mazaraa shebaa to the Lebanese , but they did not , so what Israel is doing now is nothing more than a show off of power done at the wrong time and is justified by the wrong reasons ,,,,,, Israel lost credibility and lost face , especially that it also retreated from bent Jubal after losing it is Battle there ,

Israel attacked a tunnel someplace among Rafat moments after the stop fireplace had ended. Egyptian and Pan Arab information company suggested this as good because the Palestinian frame. Major Western information shops, nonetheless, didn't. Why? That' s an overly exciting query. Only now are a few mainstream media shops popping out slowly via slowly approximately what occurred FIRST. What they did broadcast is that HAMAS fired rockets into Israel whilst neglecting to say what preceded that. They, HAMAS, retaliated via firing missles (injuring a couple of). The so referred to as 'uninteded' collateral harm, nonetheless, from the Israeli army has been unequivocal.

You can't. And it's even worse when two sides want war. By the way, your last sentence is an indication why people of the world can't work out differences.
