Actually, sexing Oscars is very difficult.

"... There would be no problem at all if Oscars were able to be sexed reliably, because then all you would have to do would be to raise one good mature fish, determine its sex, and then scout up a partner of the opposite sex (or choose one from the others you might have raised). Unfortunately, sexing oscars reliably from strange stock just cannot be done. You can't do it on the basis of finnage or markings, you can't do it on the basis of behavior, and you can't do it on the basis of size, so you've struck out on three of the criteria that come in very handy in sexing many other species.

You might have read or been told that the mature male Oscar has a number of spots at the base of his dorsal fin that the female does not have, and you might proceed to obtain mature fish that show these differences between one another, figuring to set them up and wait for them to spawn after you've given them the best of conditions. And you might be very sadly disappointed when nothing at all happens, because the presence or lack of markings on the dorsal fin is just not that reliable. Some males have them and some males don't, and the same applies to females. Mature males are sometimes said to be more colorful and more belligerent than mature females; some are, some aren't. Even if size were a completely reliable barometer of sex between fish of the same age, you could use it only with fishes whose age you knew for sure. Size can be as much a product of feeding and tank accommodations given the fish as of sex, and so can color... distinctions like this should not be followed blindly, or you'll end up wasting a lot of time. Additionally, it can be dangerous to count on a difference in size as a sure guide to sex, because Oscars have a tendency to bully one another, and a much smaller Oscar cooped up with a larger one in a tank intended for breeding can get badly mauled or even killed."

Look underneath, if you see something it's a boy, if you don't, it's a girl, how old are you like 8?

Can't you people read, the name is Oscar, how dumb are you people and what makes you think it's a she? they said they don't know its a she or a he!

Hold the cat upside down. If you see something that looks like this on the south end : it's a male if you see this ; it's a female.
