I recently saw a Professor of Religious Studies speak on C-Span. He mentioned that there are about 10,000 different religions in the world. In my opinion, the all think they are right and the others are wrong. Most will kill or die for their "beliefs."
Most people believe in the religion they were brainwashed with as a child. As adults, they seldom overcome their early brainwashing.

Both the terms RIGHT and TRUE are relative. What seems absolutely right to me may not be the same for you. Same thing applies to Truth.
You may have read a story of four blind men came across an elephant. One touches the trunk and says,"Run it's a Python" while other who happen to touch its leg says its a pillar...and like wise.

There are more religions than there are countries in this world. A Religion usually have origins in the teachings of some great person and direct how to live one's life.

I believe the need for the directives was necessary from the day man king started to live in societies.

You compare Apples with apples. There is no comparison between the religions. Every religion is great in itself and also unique.

Every religion teaches one thing common and that is to love other human beings. So in that sense, all religions are equal.

Yes, there is only one right and true religion, but unfortunately it's worse than all the rest . It has nothing for the mind to grasp hold of ,so very few people are able to approach it .
It's hidden behind the other religions like a fire behind it's smoke.
It means letting go of every thing that you want, even your own existence .
As you can see ,it's not a very good religion , but there's no real alternative.

No, religion causes war and conflicts!
Why does anyone want to believe in anything when all they have to know is the life that they are living and the people around them are whats true and that is whats real!

I think there is no better religion as the other because at the end we all believe in the same God with different names.

Wrong catagory. This is where you find out the purpose behind religions, not speculation over which does the job better.

This has been debated since man can remember...

Don't you think that God would have given all the people the same book of instructions?

That being said who can say what is really correct?

There isn't, because belief is only a human
characteristic.
Try the one which established "The Ten
Commandments". It will give you a good
run for your efforts.
