anytime your body acclimates to a sustained temperature, any dramatic shift will require your body to re-acclimate itself. Until it does, your body will perceive the new temperature as abnormal.

I could not describe the temperature where I am as cold (near Heathrow Airport).

If you were able to acclimatise yourself to the excessively high temperatures we have had recently, that would be why you perceive it as cold.

Temperature today is really very pleasant.
