Sky is blue coz it absorves all the color from sun and reflects only blue, that's why it seems to be blue!

The sky is blue because air is blue. YES that is REALLY the answer.

"The sky is blue because air is a powdery blue material, and when the sun shines on it, you can see this blue color. Each molecule of air behaves like a bluish-looking mote of dust. Stare upwards on a sunny day, and you're looking into a thick cloud of air. (There really is no "sky" up there. You're not looking at a blue surface. Instead you're just seeing the Earth's layer of blue air against the blackness of outer space. )"

We individually could see a specific color in our minds that a person would call blue in their mind and a different person could see the same color in that person's mind and call it orange. Example: Jimmy looked at the tv and saw a blank screen with a color of what he calls blue in his mind, but Jane sees what Jimmy calls blue, but she calls it red. Assume that both characters know their colors. My Conclusion is, the sky could NOT be blue at all.
My other theory is, the Yoshisphere collects the color of blue from the sea and fuses it with the color green from the land creating teal. The sea forms a gas called "Seeon" causing the human eye to react with the teal and sees only the Seeon. The seeon is also the gas that gives Aquafina its great taste. They only put a mountain on the bottle to trick us into thinking the water didn't come from the ocean.
I like the taste of aquafina better than all of the other water. The labels on the Aquafina bottles are also blue, which is my previous favorite color.
The Giraffe subspecies, giraffa camelopardalis reticulata has large, polygonal liver-colored spots outlined by a network of bright white lines.

The sky is blue because it's depressed at the way we humans treat mother Earth. Ohhhh... wait a minute.. you meant why it is the COLOR blue. Whoops!! Um, some scientific reason having to do with the atmosphere and the sunlight when it shines through it.

Hope you are aware of scattering of light - Low wavelength (blue) scatter more than higher wavelength (red). When light from the sun after travelling all through the space and enter the atmospheric 'blanket' of earth it causes scattering of light. Blue spectrum gets scattered 'into' earth surface which falls into our line of sight, i.e. it is this scattered blue spectrum which falls into our eyes when we look towards the sky. This also explains why sky is more orange-red during morning and evening; the light has to traverse a more distance of atmosphere and as a result even the red spectrum gets scattered 'into' the earth and fall in our line of sight more than the blue does during morning and eve.

The sky is blue because its a reflection from the sea.

Note the sky is blue only during daylight time (not night sky).
It is due to sun light. When we spread out sunlight(sunlight comprises of violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red) in to a spectrum, the blue part of it is the least intense part. Less than 1/40th of the whole energy of the brightness of the sunlight appears in the blue of the spectrum and we see only that 1/40th part. The blue has just masked the rest of the spectrum. So we "see" only blue color.

This is called Raman effect. The theory was invented by Sir.C.V. Raman, and for his related works in this area he was awarded Nobel prize.

I think its something like coz the blue part of the spectrum is high frequency so scatters more easily than the others. Its called Rayleigh scattering.

Sunsets are red coz when the sun is low on the horizon the light has to travel through more atmosphere which makes red part of the spectrum (low frequency) shine through to us as all the blue scatters away.

during d daytime...d sky is blue coz white light which contains seven colours i.e violet,indigo,blue,green,yello... and red and blue ..blue is the colour which scatters most in the sky....this changes in d evening as the angle of incidence of the sun's rays changes..n slowly red is scattered n refracted more than blue
