Lebanon used to be French colony until I think 1943. When Lebanon was established as independent country, christian majority in Lebanon promised not to ask for French military support and keep Arab appearance of the country, while Muslim side promised to recognise full independence of Lebanon.
Yes, Lebanon needs help to protect itself from Israel and yes, Europe should help, but I'm not sure how will Lebanon react on presence of French army in their country again.

They should not do that.
They're compounding the problem in Lebanon.
