Mourinho has won the premier league (twice) and the worthington cup once in his two years at stamford bridge.
At the same time Rafa Benitez has won the European Cup, FA Cup and Super Cup at Liverpool with less than a quarter of chelsea's finances! If I was Chelsea gaffer and I had that money, I could of won the league as well, what makes Mourinho so damn special?
On fantasy football, if you had unlimited finances, you could have the best team avaliable and not have too much managerial work to do, If you have a budget, you have to get right blend of players to make a good team.
Rafa = Great manager with little or no money
Mourinho = Good Gaffer (but with so much money, he can buy anyone he wants)

I agree with Big H. We need more gaffers like Paisley! Moronio, I'm sorry Mourinho is a good gaffer. He has won the Champions League with Porto, and he has won the EPL twice in a row with Chelsea, but his EPL wins have come from an owner that allows it to be Christmas every day by giving the gaffer a blank piece of paper and getting him to write a wish list to Santa (ie , the owner). The little Moronio wakes up the next day, and just like Christmas, there are all the presents that he wanted. He gets a Ballack, and a Shevchenko etc. He does well to blend all the egos together and get results, but until he wins the Champions League, he will always be good, but not great. Paisley did it with no money, I'd be interested to see if Moronio could do anything with no money to buy whoever he wants. Give him Tottenham (no offence) and see how he goes!!!!

Clubs like Real Madrid can also buy the players they want, thay've got the money. Why haven't thay won anything in the last 2 seasons?
Jose Mourinho won the portuguese league in all the seasons he spent at Porto and also the champions league.
Claudio Ranieri could also buy the kinda players he wants, y did he not win anything?
Jose's 1st season at chelsea saw him win what the team haven't won in 50yrs, Tell me what's not special bout dat.
He's taken over 4rm the likes of Wenger and Ferguson and also won 4-1 against Benitez's liverpool last season.
Mourinho is simply the special one.

you have to remember that at Porto he had little or no funds less than benitez has at Liverpool anyway, yet he managed to win 2 league titles the uefa cup and the next yr with almost the same squad the champions league, Ranieri had the same funds as mourinho does now and was unable to win anything, so could YOU really win the premiership if you had those funds even though a professional manager failed to? what makes him so special is the ability to get his players to work as a team and believe they can win no matter what the circumstances are

Mourinho is a special manager bcoz he knows when to take in and out his players, he can turn around any challenges and even without money he would be the best manager in Enland.
Would like to see AC Milan and Chelsea someday in a champions league final.

Because he's won two in two. Make it 3 in 3. The Champs league with Porto followed by two EPL'S with Chelsea. He's damn good but it would be damn interesting to see how he would do without the money power of Abramovich

Over the years I have found that you can have the best players in the world, but if you cannot get them to play together then you are pissing in the wind. So the manager must take some credit.

Unfortunately money has spoiled the game.

Bob Paisley was tremendous, he didn't need hardly any money to produce a world class team. We need more managers like him.

He makes predictions in football and seems to back them up. The halo may be tarnished if they do not win the Champions League this year. Rafa is quiet but is very close to being a Special One if he can win the Premiership.

Because he won the UEFA Cup and Champions League back to back with a practically no-name team from Portugal (F.C. Porto) and then won back to back league titles with Chelsea in his first two years.

Special????? I think he's an arrogant little shite! When he raised his fingers to his lips to hush the Liverpool fans, he could have started a riot. Lets see how special he would be if he was put in charge of say...Rochdale (no offence to Dale fans) with no money to spend & limited mediocre players. How succesful would he be then.....NOT VERY! Again I apologise to Rochdale fans, Your club was the first one to spring to mind.
