Saudi Geoff, you asked a question about Yahoo answers, and you have been doing this a lot longer than I have. Who rattled your cage?

Welcome to Answers, there are seven levels with different amounts of points needed for reaching each. if you click on the 'Home' page of Answers, on the left hand side, underneath the list of different categories you will find 'Related Links' - 'What's going on in Answers' Here you will find a link to 'Points and Levels' which should answer any questions you have about the benefits of each level.

Yes unfortunately some people 'play dirty', ask and answer in inappropriate ways which go against the Community Guidelines and make the site uncomfortable for most users. They can be reported for abuse to the Yahoo Answer Team (YAT) by clicking on the Report Abuse button underneath each users Avatar(picture). You can also read the Community Guidelines (CGs) at 'What's going on in Answers'

Another nuisance is the Internet Troll. They bombard the site with multiple posts of a dubious nature. The best way to deal with them is to report them without replying to them.

Nobody who uses the site properly need be jealous of another person's score and you will find that when you rise in the ranks other users in the high ranks will be only too glad to congratulate and encourage you by telling you how best to improve your daily points. If you have any problems with the site or have suggestions on how to improve it you can visit the Answers Forum, a link to it is found below 'What's going on in Answers'

Others have told you how to view the levels and points needed for each....answering a question is worth 2 pts, choosing a best answer for a question that is no longer accepting answers is 1 pt, and if your answer is chosen as the best answer for a question, you get 10 pts.

At level 5 or 6 (I forget which) you no longer have a limit on number of questions you can answer daily...it becomes unlimited...beyond that, it's purely for entertainment value imo.

Yes, there are a lot of people here who post ugly and unkind things...they help us appreciate the ones who are kewl and friendly. It takes all kinds...those that are way out of line, get the "report abuse" link clicked on them and Yahoo! can deal with it...there are a LOT of minors here and some of this stuff isn't appropriate for 'em (some of it isn't appropriate anywhere, anytime).

Welcome to Answers...hope you enjoy!
