This is very intriguing because Schumacher said that if he wins the title this year, he will not race the next (he’ll go to pension – if I can say so), but if not he’ll stay to win the 2007 season , and to make things even worse the upcoming champion Raikkonen has a preseason deal with Ferrari which says that if Schumacher leaves next year Kimi comes on to take his place in Ferrari, but if not Kimi’ deal with Ferrari ends here… But that’s not all, Alonso (that little ****) the “defending champion” made a 3 year deal with McLaren Mercedes ( Kimi Raikkonen’s team) so you can say that the next year “line ups” are pretty tied up…

Well apparently he is going to make a final announcement at Monza. However, he has an option in his contract for ONE more year only with Ferrari, on his choice so it's either Ferrari or retirement. He's got almost every record in F1 (barring Riccardo Patrese's number of starts (256). The guy is paid $26million a year not including the merchandising side ($500000 a WEEK!!!) so he isn't short of money, he has a family to go home to, and he's in a tax haven, he's 37 and healthy. What would you do??

FERRARI, unless he wins championship then he retires

there is a rumour that he might buy another team out and run his younger brother, possibly in next couple of years

may buy toyota if they continue to under achieve, winning status is very important to japanese companies

he has not decided who he is going to drive for. he has until the 10th sept to decide whether he is going to retire or stay in f1, if he does stay it will probably be at Ferrari, although there was talk that he might start he own team????
i think that whether he retires or carries on will depend on whether or not he wins the drivers championship this year.
if he wins he might want to retire as the reigning champ rather than a former champ
