Where can I find checklist of items I'll have to choose when building a new home (siding, countertops, etc.) ?

I'm looking for a detailed (free) checklist of items I'll need to choose when building a new home. Something that would list all the things I'll need to make personal choices on; appliances, countertops, siding, roofing, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, windows, paving driveway, etc.

Even better if I can find a (free) list of the whole step-by-step process of home building. Something that lists things I might not think of like checking with the city about sewer or power hookups in a home in the country.

Thanks very much for any help you might be able to provide. It will be much appreciated.

Each builder will have a different selection process and the forms that go along. For a comprehensive guide to the home building process from a consumers point of view, try this website:
