I am afraid you missed the best of morecambbe by 40+ years, there are lots of drug addicts, eastern europeans and next to no employment.
I hope you have a car, then there is the south lake district, windermere, blackpool is about an hour away, they Yorkshire dales are similarly about an hour away and there is a ferry to the Isle of Man from Heysham.
Other than that the Carlton nightclub is a laugh, its like taking a step back in time, very similar to the rest of the town.
if you are looking for the thrills and excitement offered by Frontierland, don't waste your time looking for it, they knock it down.
If it isn't raining you will be able to see it coming!

The winding rivers and valley villages around the Lune Valley have always inspired with their beauty.
Pretty villages like Wray, (home of the Scarecrow Festival) or Caton with the serene Crook o'Lune and the coaching hamlet of Hornby are typical of the area.

As usual, you get all the silly answers first, so let's get rid of this one right now:
I went to Morecambe once. It was closed!
Unfortunately, apart from being the birthplace of the bloke who was to call himself Eric Morecambe and the likes of Dame Thora Hird, it really hasn't got a lot to say for itself. I small theatre I believe, but the bay is nice - lots of sand and a bracing wind. Unfortunately, unless you're rather elderly you won't find it very exhilarating in many other ways - unless somebody else knows better.

Masculine is more optimistic about Morecambe than the rest of us. Go to Morecambe but be aware of other people's thought. It is not great.

I was brought up in Manchester, and we have a saying: "They don't bury people in Morecambe, they stand them up in bus shelters." Go to Blackpool instead.

One tip - when the tide is out, do not walk down to the water's edge. The tide comes in faster than a man can run. Quicksand all over the place too.
