I dont think it is classed as kidnapping as you would still be in the UK as Ireland is part of the British Isles. Have a word with Citizens Advice or a free 30 minutes with a solicitor under Legal Aid. Good luck.

Its tricky... I'd recommend asking a lawyer as you may need permission from the courts as it could be seen as denying access to the kids from your ex-husband's perspective.

You need your ex husband to agree to this first if the kids are under 18 which I assume they are.

Of course you can - Since both Eire and U.K. are part of European Union you have an absolute right to entry to the U.K.

I MOVED TO IRELAND WITH MY NEW HUSBAND, AND MY 2 BOYS FROM A PREVIOUS MARRIAGE, IT WAS HARD HE TOLD ME HE COULD STOP ME IF HE WANTED TO, BUT I THINK LEGALLY AS I HAVE CUSTODY OF CHILDREN HE KNEW HE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE A HOPE AS WE WERE MOVING FOR MY NEW HUSBANDS JOB!
I WISH YOU LUCK I HAVE HEARD OF SOMEONE ELSE WHO WENT TO COURT OT STOP THEIR EX WIFE TAKING KIDS FROM ENGLAND TO SWEDEN AND THEY LOST, I THINK YOU MAY NEED HIS PERMISSION BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT WHAT'S HE GOING TO DO TAKE YOU TO COURT, AND I BET YOU WIN!

If you have sole custody..then you can most likely live where you want...UNLESS he has it stated that you can't leave the state, country etc...check and see w/ lawyer..good luck

dpends who has custody, and won't be classed as kidnapping unless you are doing it so that you can hide them from him.
