I think it's more of an issue between candor and honesty. Sometimes politicians do not lie but merely avoid answering the question. Our system of governance is both a procedural democracy as well as a substantive democracy, which means there is often compromise between competing viewpoints. Our form of government is also adversarial and does not always result in the same answer as would a government of consensus.
The reason that politicians fail to be honest or candid is because they often decide that they need to do a little bad in order to accomplish a lot of good. Since the US is an immigrant nation, the there is a large variation of desires and, therefore, any law will appear significantly out of place for a larger number of citizens.
Now, to answer your specific comments.
1 - Yes, Abortion is wrong. Most people on both sides of the aisle agree with this. What they disagree on is whether you should let people make mistakes, and which ones to make. In rape and incest, many on both sides think the cure is not worse than the injury. However, they mostly disagree on whether abortion should be a form of birth control. The debate is actually null at the present time since it appears that SCOTUS is set on letting Roe stand as Stare Decisis law. Of Course, the members of SCOTUS are not partisan politicians, per se.
2 - All countries make decisions based on their own hopes and fears, more towards fear. The problem is that a country is currently the highest order of sovereignty, the highest order you can win or lose at -- there is no higher level to appeal to. This is both good and bad. A country could make bad decisions that result in it's destruction or genocide, but the human race would go on. However, WMD and global scale catastrophes, like global warming, make it possible to put every human at risk. Perhaps we need a higher level structure of governance. That is what I am working towards (not to be confused with the UN, which is not a government).
3 - Yes, this you are correct. However, culture is hard to change and part of the US culture is "you break it you fix it." Since white people enslaved black people that means that white people destroyed black culture and, thus, should fix it. That's an oversimplification, but accurate enough... and both sides perpetuate it. Neither side seems able to understand the concept of "Sunk Cost" with regards to this. (see link)
4 - Maybe, but the UN was ultimately responsible for the creation of Israel and the partitioning of land in Palestine. Remember, there were no Palestinians at that time. There were only nomadic arabs that migrated through and around the area. It was only after the Jews turned the barren wasteland into a lush paradise that the Arabs wanted it. It wasn't really until after these nomadic arabs were prevented from living in other Arab countries (like Jordan) that the idea of a Palestinian people arose.
5 - I'm neither French nor British, so I can't help you there. They both act provincial in their own ways... but who doesn't?
6 - Some of them might. There were a couple founders that might have agreed with heavy handed politics. But I bet all of them did, or would have, smoked weed for one reason or another.
7 - An apt analogy -- based on the radicals on either side. We need a new political party, not for the radicals, but for the majority.

you are incorrect in your assumptions that british call the french gay , not all of them do, but we remember the french, for over 400 years of wars with them they are dishonourable in thier attitude towards anybody who does not agree with them we call them the spoilt kids because at every opportunity they will spit the dummy out of bed if they dont get thier way.
you are right about your politics the americans think that they are superior in every facet of thier life , when clearly they are not.
not everybody is a racist who happens to have a didifferent opinion than your own, most countrys make desicions based on what they can get , either a return to power, or a loan from you lot. do you think that your founding fathers didnt smoke weed, look at your history, weed as been around a lot longer than you think.
