Its because your parents told them that you were up late last night playing computer games, watching videos and phoning your mates. Trust me it IS a conspiracy. The birds are silent when you go to bed early or have to set the alarm to get up early.
But don't complain too much. I used to live in a city and in the morning the birds didn't sing. They woke up coughing and clearing their throats like they had emphasema

I had the same thing happen to me. I lived in New York city and one winter a little bird showed up at my window sill and tweeted me awake. I felt so sorry for it because it was extremely cold, I drove it over to Central Park.......with a 5 iron!

because they have a day which follows the sun, they get up when it gets light, and go to sleep when it gets dark, this means they get more time feeding in summer when food is more plentiful, and that's why they breed then. The song is usually just a warning that this is their territory, and they are telling others of their species to stay away

Ever heard of the saying "Up with the lark"?
The birds rise with the sun as we should, it's the best part of the day.
