they won't come untied and will hopefully prevent the lace from getting in the chain? I'm referring to some type of clamp or holder. I have seen things made for childrens shoes, but I don't know the name or if they make them for adults. Please don't suggest buying another pair of boots, the biker boot is not my style.

For those asking and wondering, yes I have heard of and know how to do a double knot. But it is fairly annoying having to get it untied each time.

Go to any sporting goods store and check out their cord locks. I use them for my cloth head covers instead of tying in a knot.

Hello there. The guy with the army/navy store idea was close, but not quite there. What I mean by that is that when I was in the army we used these things called blousing bands, they are used to blouse your BDU pant bottoms. You can rap these around your upper boot - laces under. No need to cut your laces up. They come in 2 different styles, either metal coil or elastic sleeve. Either is good, but I prefer the sleeve with the Velcro (easy on easy off and easy to store) and they look cool. So when your friends see you wearing them, don't tell them where you got them and you might be able to make a little extra money, if you catch my drift. Here I did the search for you http://www.goldnuggetsurplus.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-AC072.html?L+scstore+agho0319+1223914757
I hope this helps you, RIDE ON

Ever hear of a double knot? Tie the laces as you normally would and then make the final loop again. Simple.

Try speed laces from Army Surplus that you lace into your boots and just zip them up.
Either that or double knot them and tuck them into the top of you boots.

If they're that long, why not do the simple fix? Tie them the way you like them, then cut off the excess, and cauterize the ends so they don't fray.

I don't know of any device that is designed for that, but a strip of duct tape would surely do it.
