How do I find other musicians/singers to start a band?

Question

I'm a singer/songwriter and I want to find other musicians to start a band.

Does anyone know how to go about this process? Also, would it be necessary for me to move to a major music center to find someone?

you dont have to move there right away, if your good then you will get signed. but you have to be really lucky. to get a band together its all about connections, if u know people then ask them or wtv. or just either do an audition or put an ad in the paper. after that start playing at clubs and play your *** off and pray that someone signs you, if not then you can try moving ur band to another city. thats how the best bands do it, not through a stupid reality show contest (ex american idol)

The musicians around here hang signs at the local disk exchange and put adds in the paper. I don't think you have to move just let people know you are there the music will do the rest

My extreme college has dozens of human beings grouping up and forming their very own beginner bands each and all of the time. there is under no circumstances a definite element, each and each band would only final for approximately 2wks to a month tops. There lots of varieties i are turning out to be to choose from, yet i've got only participated interior the Symphonic, Black, loss of life, and Heavy metallic bands. each and all of the others particularly have not got interesting drum beats. final I remembered, me and a pair of buddies are only messing around the belief of yet yet another band. no longer too specific of the call yet, yet i will enable ya understand if it ever pulls by using. =P

Try posting your search in the newspaper's classified section, then have them audition for you...that way you can screen your musicians/singers and eventually have your band up in no time. My friend's a musician and that's what he did, and it worked out fine for him...Good Luck!

And ya hell if u check some music centers or academys u will find nice talented ones
