All authors are made by women. I've never heard of a man having given birth to an author.

Seriously, though I don't think you can generalise like that... my favorite books have largely been written by men, but that is because historically many more books have been written by men than women.

Who cares! Although I do prefer women authors because sometimes we think alike, but not always. Men authors are cool to,o it's not like I could never have beliefs in common just because they are the same gender as me. Ellen G White is an interesting author who wrote many manuscripts and books.

Let's be honest, the artistic CRAFT is what influences who makes a better author. I feel gender has nothing to do with writing creativity. It depends to me on what I am in the mood for, and who has a book that satisfies that need. Who wrote the book and What is it's style influence my decision before what sex the author is. Besides, just because they have a masculine or feminine name does not mean that they ARE a man or womenl. :D

Both! It all depends on the subjects, they are writing about.Adventure , mostly men. Sentimental and feelings, Women. Of course there is a crossover on these ,
. Hundred of yrs ago a woman could not write a book , so a lot of them wrote under a mans name and became very famous.

I don't think you can compare, or can tell the difference.

This society is to biased.

When I say George Sand is a good writer, what do you think, in regards to your question. You might be thinking I'm saying men are better writers. But Of course you know that George Sand was actually a woman. She took man's name - I guess it was easier to publish like this. Old days were full of prejudice. But when you read her books you can't tell they are writtem by a woman not by a man.

Generally you can't tell the difference. There used to be a prejudice against women who wrote SF so many of them adopted masculine names. e.g Andre Norton, Julian May
Nobody said aha this book has obviously been written by a woman
I once saw a article on a bills & coos romance writer - he was a big hairy biker type.

If you want detail, women. We write about the way a room looks, what the characters are wearing. Men tend to avoid these details and stick with the bare facts.

These are only generalizations, of course

Either one.
The best skill is with an author who writes so well that, if you didn't see her or his name on the book you couldn't tell if it was a man or woman who wrote it.

I've read great books by both. I do think Jane Austen is one of the great writers. My favorite author is Thomas Berger.
