I was wondering why so many bible thumpers and homophobes spend most of their time in the gay and lesbian section of yahoo answers? I just find it funny they seem to be answering the questions more than lesbians and gay men?

Probably because the average "Bible thumper" is a misinformed Christian with the need to feel powerful. The average Christian sees homosexuality as an automatic ticket to hell, so obviously they would be pretty active promoting any alternatives. However, if we choose to look at each individual act as a sin, as society does with adultery, than gays wouldn't have the same stigma in society. If gays really wanted to, they could become saved and still have sex, just as the average unmarried Christian does. That "Bible thumper" probably has purer intentions than you might think.

Because GLBT people are gaining rights and respect in the population every day, and we've done this more by talking to people and letting them know we are not really that different from them.

Those who would keep us down have taken the same strategy and try to disrupt any conversation that would improve our lot. They see they are losing the battle so they come here to flood us with trash talk, to attempt to convince us that MOST of the straight world is against us, which is not really true today.

Because most of their religion is based on feeling better than other people!

Church is usually not a remedial service for the religiously challenged who want special help to get back on their feet again.

No, church is an elite group of those who consider themselves spiritually superior. Elitists need fodder for their feelings of superiority. They find it on Yahoo!

This is where they really want to be. They feel so much more at home in this section because they are gay but are afraid to admit it. Have pity on their tortured souls.

Their usually so low down the food chain that spitting bile at gays constitutes doing something with there sad little lives ...more to be pitied than bothered about

Your question is the answer - just curious! :-) I find that a more justifiable reason than the alternative, that they are such wimps that they have to seek out LGBT people to beat up on in the cyber world because they're too afraid to beat up on us the real world, face to face.

Some of them hope their preachin' an' thumpin' might "covert" some people and they'd get both Yahoo and Jesus points.

Others are just unhappy people who, if they ever knew God, lost touch and try to feel better by bashing others.
