I dont know what else to do.I think they reset it.But i dont know how.I just want to get rid of it before the emission test.I know it's nothing serious.I just want to pass and get it over with.Help!

there is a reset tool they use to get rid of that light. you need that tool, turn the ignition to the on position, wait about 30 seconds and turn it back off..and then the light should go off.

but you need that tool to do this.

Your engine light is on because it has a trouble code in the computer. The only way to get rid of it perminatley is to hook it up to a scanner and see what the code is and replace or fix the part or sensor that went bad. Because if you don't fix the problem which triggered the code it will be on forever. Or you could do what this guy I know did who couldn't afford to get his vehicle fixed. All he did was get some black electrical tape and put it over the check engine light on his dash. When he showed me how he fixed his check engine light I laughed my a$$ off.

there is an emission problem with your vehicle, that is why the light came on, reseting it will only turn off light until it notices the problem, then the light will come back, you need to know what trouble code is in your computor, then I may be able to point you in the right direction

the tool is an ODB II diagnostic tool. It will allow you to clear the check engine light

Auto Zone will reset it for you at no cost.
