My brother's 16 year old daughter is on holiday from school, and is coming to visit me.
Every year I treat her to a shopping spree.
This year she wants me to buy her thongs.
I have allocated 500 - 1000 euro for the day out, but I am not keen to buy her her first thongs.
She was very disappointed when I told her this.
I have promised to buy her as much of the pants that she normally wears as she wants, but she is not happy with this.
I know that I am her favourite uncle, but I feel that I am in danger of losing this lovely title.
Help me please.
What should I do?
Should I buy her thongs?

I think that a few people are misunderstanding this.
I am not a pervert.
I will not be asking her to model them.
I did not involve her parents because I do not wish to be seen as a tell tale, and I like the fact that I am trusted by my niece.
I have no intention of abusing that trust in any way.
While I will happily pay for any garments that she wants, I will not be choosing them.
That goes for everything - skirts, shorts, etc.
Please, people, don't be looking for bad where none exists.
I am just trying to do what is best for a dear niece, and I would not want to offend her in any way - or her parents.

God you people need to chill out! What is wrong with a niece telling her uncle what clothes she wants him to buy? This does not make him a pervert in any way! If he was a perv then he wouldn't be asking for advice on the internet about it now would he?!
If you feel uncomfortable buying them for her becuase you are worried what your brother might think then give him a call and just ask him if she has mentioned anything that she wants. If her dad knows that she wants thongs then he will tell you, if he doesn't like the idea of you getting them then he wont mention them. If he does not mention them then dont buy them just give her the money and tell her to buy whatever she wants.

First off what kind of uncle buys panties for a 16 yr old girl and are you an actual blood relative? When she's 18 is she gonna call you "daddy"? What does your bro think about this? And last but not least think of the whippin your gonna get from this girls mom when she finds out. Is your niece going to ask to model the panties for you too? You should go see a shrink cause sounds like even disgussing thong panties w/ your 16 yr. old "niece" is VERY MUCH out of line...leave that for her mom to deal with and count your blessings you dont have an impressionable child of your own to worry about being under a pervert "uncles" care.

It seems that everyone is against you buying thongs for your niece. I see nothing wrong in that. And you are also not keen in buying thongs for her. Well since you are a favourite uncle and you do not want to lose this lovely title, here's a win-win situation. Just give her the money and she can buy whatever she wants. Isn't that good?

As a 17 year old, I am surprised that she hasn't purchased a thong yet..
I bought my first thong at 13..
Are her 'rents okay with her wearing a thong? I'd have thought that if they weren't and she still wanted to, she'd go out and buy one herself.. However as her uncle, it does sound a little inappropriate to buy that for her. Maybe if you really want, you can take her out for her shopping trip, and give her 50 euros to spend on 'what she likes' ...

You sound like a very cool uncle though - I'm jealous!!!

No. Do not buy her thongs. As you can gather from most of the answers already submitted, an uncle buying his niece underwear seems a little strange even if it is with the best of intentions (allowing his niece what she wants). Tell her that she should ask her mother to go with her to buy them as it is not appropriate for you to do it. dont do it

ignore all the other answers you have been given by these misunderstanding idiots.

if i were you i would give her the money to buy her own underwear this way it is a win win situation she gets the thongs and you get a happy time with your niece.

I suggest you give her money to buy her own underwear. It probably isn't too wise you buying for her anyway. Tell her that you are happy to do this but don't necessarily want to see what she buys. That lets you off the hook with her dad!

Phone mum and dad. If they say yes, then fine. Thongs are a bit gross to my mind though.
Personally, I'd not wan't anything to do with her choice of pants.
eak!!!!!!!!!
